Marine Parade Road Closure
Marine Parade will be closed to traffic between Salmon Street and Skinner Street from 1200hrs, Friday the 24th of February 2017 to 1600hrs on Sunday the 26th of February 2017.
Access to the Bowls Club will still be made available via the Marine Pde/Salmon St entrance. This is also the designated entrance for Emergency Services and must be kept clear at all times.
Traffic to Pelican Park Recreation Centre or the Hastings Jetty will be required to follow detour signage directing vehicles via Salmon Street to Herring Street, Skinner Street before reconnecting to Marine Parade.
Stage 1 – Parade Preparation
Saturday 20/2 – 1000hrs -> 1100hrs
Arthur Street, Queen St and Elizabeth Street (between Arthur St and Alfred St) will be closed to all traffic from 1000hrs to allow Festival parade entrants to position themselves for the parade start.
Vehicular Access to the parade muster area for parade entrants will be via Alfred Street.
Stage 2 – High Street, Part Closure
Saturday 20/2 – 1100hrs -> 1200hrs
In addition to the closure as outlined in Stage 1. Stage 2 will start with the commencement of High Street road closure for East/West Traffic.
High Street will be closed from Plymouth Street to Marine Parade, except allowing for North / South Traffic through at Victoria Street, King Street and Salmon Street.
Stage 3 – High Street, Complete Closure
Saturday 20/2 – 1200hrs -> 1330hrs
In addition to Stage 2, Victoria Street, King Street and Salmon Street will now be closed to North / South Traffic and the Street Parade will commence.
Southbound through traffic on Marine Parade will be diverted via Hodgins Rd to Frankston Flinders Rd, then onto Reid Parade, whilst North bound traffic will also have detour signs appropriately advising them of the return detour route.
Once the last participants in the parade have reached Fred Smith Reserve, the barriers for all the road closures as identified in Stages 1, 2 and 3 will be removed and normal traffic flow will be reinstated.
